Kayla Patterson is the Owner and Lead Counsel of The Haven Firm, LLC, where she is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered representation in domestic relations matters. Serving clients throughout Northwest Alabama, Kayla has built her practice on guiding individuals and families through some of life's most challenging transitions with empathy, integrity, and unwavering advocacy.
The Haven Firm, LLC currently focuses exclusively on domestic relations matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, DHR defense, and adoption. As Kayla continues to expand her professional training and complete additional continuing legal education requirements, the firm plans to offer immigration representation in the future.
Kayla earned her Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law in 2022 and holds a Bachelor's degree from Kaplan University. With more than a decade of experience in the legal field—including eight years as a paralegal and more than two years as a practicing attorney—she brings both extensive legal knowledge and a deep understanding of the personal challenges her clients face.
Her practice is firmly rooted in family law, where she has successfully guided clients through complex and emotionally sensitive legal matters. Known for her compassionate yet determined approach, Kayla believes effective advocacy does not require hostility. She is committed to ensuring every client feels heard, supported, and protected throughout the legal process.

The Advocate Behind Your Success
Ridge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Political Science from Indiana University. With a strong passion for language and communication, Ridge has built a diverse professional background that includes work as a paralegal in a local prosecutor’s office, immigration law, and family law, as well as experience as a Spanish teacher and interpreter.
Ridge has been working in the legal field since 2019, where his early experience in the prosecutor’s office helped shape his commitment to service and advocacy. He was drawn to the paralegal profession through a desire to support others in navigating complex legal situations with clarity and care.
Ridge joined The Haven Firm with the goal of helping build something meaningful, combining efficiency with kindness to create a client experience that is both effective and human-centered. Having previously worked alongside attorney Kayla Patterson, Ridge was excited by the opportunity to help develop a firm that makes a genuine impact in people’s lives.

Originally from Lebanon, Indiana, Ridge currently lives abroad in Colombia, embracing a digital nomad lifestyle. Outside of work, he enjoys language learning, travel, spending time in nature, and music.
Ridge believes that the most important aspects of supporting clients are clear communication, empowerment, and ensuring that each person feels a sense of agency throughout their legal journey.
